These days. The photos make it look rather dreamy, but do not be fooled. It has been a rough week. I think I hit my limit on interaction with people by about Tuesday, and as an introvert with no real way to recharge during the week with this pandemic it has been quite a struggle. I did what I could, namely taking my frustration out on some shrubs that were out of control and then spending some time trying to find my center again with some time in the garden. There’s something calming about it all – finding new blooms (or in my case, a giant pumpkin we didn’t know was there), little critters hiding (hello, little cicada friend!) and just little things here and there to help keep me grounded.
I did sneak off for a brief moment to enjoy some knitting at the park. The kiddo has gymnastics once a week and he’s finally at the age where I feel like I can leave him there and get some small errands done. But this week I decided to use my brief break for some much needed solo knitting to cast on for a design idea I have for some holiday gift knitting. It was the most peaceful 25 minutes of my week.
But it’s Sunday, and the start of a new week. A week full of new possibilities. Like these tiny little lettuce seeds I saved from my bolting plants today (and promptly sowed in another area of the garden for some fall lettuce).
