It’s official – another make-a-long is scheduled. And this time, we’re going with a crochet project!
Hand Sown is a free pattern from the recently released Knitty.com “First Fall” collection. The shawl is made with 2 skeins of sock yarn using a size 5mm crochet hook, but if sock yarn isn’t something you love you can 100% use a different weight of yarn and just go up in a hook size to accommodate the difference. Sock yarn would make a lovely fall (or even spring) shawl, but a sport or DK weight yarn would make a cozy winter one just as easily! Or pair sock yarn with some of the lovely mohair/silk in the shop for something even more luxurious!
Here’s how this make-a-long will work this go-round (because lessons are learned daily as I get into this retail store groove!):
- Make-a-long will begin August 1st, 2021
- Registered participants will receive 10% off their supplies purchase for this project from the shop and need to be purchased August 1st or prior.
- Registered participants will also receive access to weekly Make-a-long Monday ZOOM sessions, which you can jump in on from wherever you may be to problem-solve with the pattern if you’re having issues and just, in general, socialize with fellow makers! Sessions will run for 6 weeks, beginning August 2nd and ending on October 6th and run for 1 hour on Monday evenings at 7pm. You are, of course, also welcome in-store to hang out and work on your project and, in fact, are encouraged to do so! 🙂
Ready to get crocheting? Fill out this quick registration form below, which lets me know that you’re participating so I can make sure you receive the emails with information on the weekly ZOOM sessions!
